Just Go — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Just Go is a personal surf journal. Your journal is yours — we collect only what the
app needs to work, we don't run ads, and we never sell or share your data with anyone.
What we collect
- Account info — your name, email address, and password (stored by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see your password).
- Journal content — surf sessions, ratings, notes, boards, and any photos or videos you choose to attach. Photo metadata (time and GPS location) is read on your device only to auto-fill when and where you surfed.
- Location — only when you tap "Use my location," to snap a session to the nearest surf spot. No background location, ever.
- Surf conditions — swell, wind, and tide data is fetched from public marine-weather sources and frozen into your entries; nothing about you is sent to those sources except the spot coordinates being looked up.
How it's stored
Your data lives in Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) under your account. Journal
entries, boards, and photos are private to your account. Surf spots you add to the shared map
(name and pin location) are visible to other Just Go members, along with your display name.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no trackers, no analytics SDKs.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data — ever.
- No background location tracking.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and all of your data at any time inside the app:
Journal → gear icon → Profile → Delete My Account. This erases your sessions, boards,
photos, spot pins, profile, and login credentials. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Children
Just Go is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
